Sock bug
...it bit me!
Here are the THREE pairs of socks I have on the needles right now:
the Socken mit Missoni-Zacken, which have to grow immensely until tomorrow night when my sister is coming over before she takes off for her trip to South America. I'm sure I'm not going to be able to finish the 2nd sock, but I'll give them to her anyway...she was going to knit them as well, so it'll just be a joint project.
They could have grown a lot more, but I got a bit annoyed with the k2, m1, k1, m1, k2, dd pattern, I had to do something plain and quick. I still had this 6-ply sockyarn in my stash and while I don't particularly care for the black and rainbow colors, it was relaxing to knit and I really want new handknit socks BADLY.
As I've mentioned in the previous post, I cast on for Jaywalker the night after the peak of my yarn binge. It totally is the same pattern as the Missoni-Zacken one, but the colorway kept me going. THis is also the first time I'm knitting a sock on 2,5mm 15cm long needles and absolutely enjoying it. No idea why I've always been knitting with 3mm needles, the pattern comes out much nicer and the stitches look so much neater!

You have to be (one of) the sweetest sisters ever! Giving your sis a pair of your handknit socks! Really pretty ones too! : )
I like your black and rainbow color sock. Very cheerful. Loven' the jaywalkers too!

I can understand your addiction! I love your Jaywalkers. I've been able to resist up until now, but who knows how long I can hold out. :)

Hahaha, it seems you're already an established sock-knitter. I still need to get my techniques going. I mean, with my first attempt on 4.5 dpns and worsted-weight yarn (as you could see on my blog), I got as far as having turned the heels and I failed on the gusset.
Anyhow, yeah, I picked up a ball of Meilenweit Magico yesterday. That's going to be my goal, to knit a jaywalker with that! But first, I need to get this 4-fädig Regia sock of mine going in stockinette stitches, coz a friend of mine's going to show me how to do the heels and gusset her way (with 5 dpns instead of the usual 4 dpns and picking stitches along the vertical edge) when she's here in Munich for the weekend! So, I need to at least the get leg done...and maybe I should go and get another set of 2.5 dpns to start on the other side of the stock as well. I think I might go and pick up another ball today. Just in case *knitter excuse, LOL*
*LOL*)

:-) I know that feeling... 'oooh, I'm going to knit up the most perfect *jaywalker/sweater/hat/whatever*, but I MUST buy these *needles/yarns/stitch markers/row counters* in order to get a satisfying result:-)
Or in other situations- I've been contemplating buying a new chair for my desk in order to be able to write my master's thesis!!
I'm definitely going to be in the sockapalooza this year, I just found out about it at carola's (? I think that's where it was...) blog, luckily the sign-up not going to start until next tuesday!
